Outlook 2007 SMS Text Messaging

You can now send SMS directly from Microsoft Outlook® 2007 without needing to use email to sms using the Outlook Mobile Service (OMS).

To set this up, simply follow these two steps:

  • Sign up for an aql sms account

  • click on the link to Set up Outlook Mobile Service and enter your account username and password when prompted. Depending on your web browser's settings, you may need to confirm that you wish to load this service.

When you want to send a message, click New then New Text Message to bring up the New Text Message window

Separate the mobile numbers you want to send to with commas or semi-colons and click Send. You can set the originator that the recipient will see from your aql account setup screen.

You can choose the length of a message and when you want it to be sent inside the message window. Please be aware that concatenated messages are split at 153 characters and some symbols use multiple characters

You can also schedule the send time for SMS messages and use your Outlook 2007 address book, getting information to your customers at the right time or never missing a birthday. Schedule SMS messages up to 1 year in advance. If your account is low on credit you will get an automatic SMS and email notification.
